Things you should know before starting the process
- It might take a few hours to process an account. The process can be anywhere from one hour to five hours, depending on the size of the account.
- There is no risk of the data being tampered with in the process. If you’re using WordPress, a free plugin like UpdraftPlus will make it easy to back up your databases and files/folders.
- When you set up your website, the primary domain will always point to the public_html folder. That means it’s up to you to copy all the files from the new primary domain to the public_html directory. If you’re considering using the old primary domain as an addon domain, all its files will go in a subfolder within the public_html folder.
- These settings will delete custom DNS configurations, domain forwarders, Cloudflare configurations, and more during the process. when the process is over. You can reconfigure the same setback again.
- The domain you’re changing must already be associated with your account. It cannot become your main domain again.
